PYP Volunteer Programme

Volunteers are an indispensable part of our organisation because they extend our limited resources by providing extra hands that enable us to do tasks and activities that we might otherwise not have been able to do. The programme ensures that our volunteers gain a sense of ownership when they become visible advocates of PYP projects. They build organisational strength through promotion of PYP because they believe in the cause.

As a PYP volunteer you will not only be giving your time to help the community to improve lives, but it also can provide you with benefits including:

  • the chance to have fun doing something you’ve never tried before
  • increased confidence
  • a sense of satisfaction and achievement
  • the opportunity to make new friends and contacts with diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • increased job and career prospects and new skills – (according to DirectGov, over 70 per cent of employers would hire a candidate with volunteering experience over someone who has never volunteered)
How to get involved;

PYP Fundraisers

You can support PYP by organizing a fundraising event in your area to support our projects. In the past PYP youth have held pyjama parties, run marathons and held coffee mornings to support our work.

PYP Youth Zone

Become a youth peer educator by using the PYP Youth Zone platform to share something positive with other youth. This could be a poem, a story, pictures or a video clip.

PYP Mentors

PYP mentors are people who provide youth with outlets for new opportunities and challenges, and they should inspire youth to achieve goals and dreams. Good mentors invest in young peoples lives by not only consistently spending time with them, but also helping youth set up action plans to meet personal and long-term career goals. PYP is currently running a careers guidance mentorship program where mentors will support young people to pursue their chosen career path.
