The PYP Ipswich Project is aimed at building the capacity of young people, particularly those in the North West Ipswich area, with skills that they need to become responsible residents of their neighbourhood. All the activities are run exclusively by the youth, from conception, planning, organisation to implementation, which process whilst keeping them out of mischief, is meant to build useful capabilities that they will find useful in future. The PYP Spring Barbecue
On the 24th of March 2012, young volunteers from in and around North West Ipswich organised a successful charity event at Whitton Football Club, Ipswich to raise funds for the Positive Youth Programmes’ projects in Africa. The youth-led event was an eye opener to the young people who reported to have immensely benefited in terms of their event planning capabilities.
